MISSION &
OBJECTIVES
"Leverage firm assets to achieve library goals"
The sixth AMPLL Conference will include presentations,
structured breakout sessions, demonstrations, and ample opportunity
for networking with the faculty, council and other attendees.
Enrollment is limited to 30 participants to maximize the learning
and sharing of information.
Participants will learn how to:
- Identify management challenges
- Strategize for successful partnerships
- Sharpen your negotiation skills
- Communicate effectively with upper management

Westin Stonebriar Resort in Dallas, TX
2:00 PM on Friday, April 20, 2007 through
11:30 AM on Sunday, April 22, 2007
Costs:
There is no registration fee to attend the AMPLL Conference. LexisNexis will cover all conference materials, meals, lodging, and transportation to and from the airport in Dallas. Attendees are responsible for airfare to and from the conference and any personal incidental charges.
Selection Criteria:
The AMPLL conference is open to all law librarians working in a management position, such as library manager, director, or department head in a private law firm or corporate legal department. In making their decisions, the Advisory Council will strive for diversity in such areas as geographical distribution, firm size, and managerial experience & responsibilities. You can apply this year, even if you previously applied to attend an AMPLL Conference in the past, but were not accepted.

Monice Kaczorowski
Monice M. Kaczorowski has been Director of Library Services for Neal Gerber & Eisenberg LLP since June 2003. Prior to her current position, she was Director of Libraries for Ross & Hardies for 14 years. She works closely with the Marketing Department and attends monthly Practice Group meetings to develop needs assessments and to promote business development within the Firm. Monice has created a Competitive Intelligence Unit within the library that supports the Firm's practice development efforts and RFP process. Monice continues to work with the Firm's legal education committee and has developed a new associate legal research training program.
Monice's professional affiliations include memberships in the Special Libraries Association (SLA) and the Chicago Association of Law Libraries (CALL) and the American Association of Law Libraries (AALL) . She has spoken before the Chicago Association of Legal Administrators on the topic of "Cost Effective Libraries" and authored "The Library -Making it Your Business" in Trends in Law Library Management" (1997) and "Running Your Library Like a Business" in the AALL Management Briefing (1996) and "Competitive Intelligence: Influencing the Firm's Bottom Line" In the CALL Bulletin (Winter 2007).
She is a past presenter and member of the planning council for the AMPLL conference 2005. Monice earned her B.A. from St. Mary's College, Notre Dame, Indiana and her M.L.S. from Dominican University.
Holly Pinto
Holly Pinto is the Director of Library Services with Holland & Hart LLP. She received her M.L.S. degree from Indiana University (’95). Holly has given Internet resources presentations to paralegals and attorneys through the IPE Institute and has participated in CoALL's annual BRAG summer associate program. Some of her interests in the library world include: blogs, library management, the use of statistics in gaining additional support for the library and working with other departments to market the library. She was President of the Colorado Association of Law Libraries in 2002-03 and is a member of the American Association of Law Librarians and Special Libraries Association.
Holly Riccio
Since March 2002, Holly Riccio has been the Library Manager for the San Francisco and Silicon Valley offices of O’Melveny & Myers LLP, a global law firm of over 1,000 attorneys worldwide. In 2006, she also became the manager of the Calendar department in the San Francisco office. Prior to that, she was the Librarian/Marketing Research Specialist for the San Francisco office of Davis Wright Tremaine LLP. She has worked at law firms in both San Francisco and New York City, including starting her professional career working as a Reference Librarian at New York County Lawyers’ Association.
Holly has served as both Secretary and Chair of the Private Law Libraries Special Interest Section of the American Association of Law Libraries and is currently serving as Secretary of the Northern California Association of Law Libraries. She is also currently a member of the Scholarships Committee for the American Association of Law Libraries and the Nominations Committee for the Private Law Libraries Special Interest Section. She is a founding member of the AALL Publishing Initiatives Caucus and has served on numerous AALL committees, including serving as Chair of the Grants Committee. She has written on various topics, including “The Virtual Library,” “Effective Web Searching Skills” and “Image and the Librarian” for publications such as LLRX, AALL Spectrum and The Legal Secretary. She has spoken at PLI’s The Law Library 2005 on the topic of “Expanding Roles of Law Librarians” and at the 8th Annual Legal Marketing Association’s Technology Program on “Intelligence v. Information: Revolutionizing Competitive Intelligence”. She was a member of the 2002 Teaching Research in Private Law Libraries (TRIPLL) Advisory Council.
Holly is an active member of AALL, SLA, PLL and NOCALL. Holly received her BA in History (with a minor in Economics) from New York University and her MILS from the University of Michigan.
