Security on LexisNexis™

LexisNexis believes in the highest levels of security for both our customers and our own business. On the Internet, it is no different. LexisNexis recognizes that the Internet requires an additional security need above that of our traditional LexisNexis services.
Secured Sockets Layer (SSL) is the standard encryption protocol to provide a secure connection. With SSL in place, information is encrypted before it is transmitted between your computer and LexisNexis blocking any attempt to observe this information by another party. On most browsers, you are notified as you enter a secured Internet page and as you depart the secured Internet page. It is no different with lexis.com as you can look for this indicator prior and following the transmission of your LexisNexis ID, client matter code, and search information. You should know, however, that SSL encryption may result in slightly slower system performance.
