In addition to basic search strategy, LexisNexis® also offers several "advanced" search techniques that can help you get the results you really want!
Some advanced search techniques (that may be used with either of the 2 interfaces) are:
Segment Searching allows you to search through smaller, more exact portions, or fields, of documents for your search terms. Segment searching can be done on www.nexis.com (in Power Search or Search Forms) and Lexis.com (at the Terms & Connectors search screen). Precision Commands allow you to specify exactly "how" LexisNexis reads your search terms you may specify singular only, plural only, and force certain capitalization commands as well.
Personal News Searches allow you to set up a regularly scheduled updating search that LexisNexis runs behind the scenes and emails you when new results are found! Personal News is a feature of www.nexis.com only, and can be set up from either the Power Search form or through Search Forms.
ECLIPSE searches The ECLIPSE service on LexisNexis is an "electronic clipping service" and just like Personal News, ECLIPSE lets you set up a search that runs automatically, behind the scenes, with the results being delivered right into your email. (ECLIPSE is available only through www.lexis.com and LexisNexis Proprietary software the email feature is only available through www.lexis.com).
